Went camping at SC's King's Mt. State Park this weekend. Tent was 49 F when we woke up this morning at 7:00. Outside was 42 F. That's pretty chilly camping for May in SC. (Original plan was Blowing Rock, NC, and Price Lake Campground, but we ditched that for the "warmer" weather down south!)

Is this some sort of secret code?

NEAR TERM:

 Isolated to widely
scattered shows may still develop given the frontal convergence and
moderate instability (1000-1500 j/kg) owing to better heating today
and steepening mid-level lapse rates. Hires models suggest the best
potential will be across the northern Piedmont and northern Coastal
Plain after ~21Z. While the threat is conditional, depending on the
sale of our house, small hail is possible with the strongest
convection. Highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s south.

Our 1st 90+ degree day today. Topped off at 92 today. Currently 85/69 and dry.

Same here at PGV though we only hit 91.....should be the hottest day out of the next 16 though its heating up pretty fast at the end of the 18Z run, still its gonna be early June and highs in the mid 80's is normal.....
