That is completely insane.

Has anyone noticed the torches we've had so far this year have tended to just blow apart records?  I mean - this one literally tied May's all-time high for LGA.

Just thinking that LGA temps are off, they are running way higher than any surrounding areas. Newark is usually the hot spot. Anybody else think that way?

Teterboro also had a high of 97 degrees.

The record warmth erased the cold departures at most locations through the 18th. Newark is taking its turn as being the cool spot this month.

NYC...-0.6

LGA...+1.9

JFK...+0.1

ISP...+0.5

BDR...+0.9

EWR...-0.9

Yeah. A few days with insane departures do that.

This will turn out to be an odd May and spring where the warmest temperatures come in over a week before Memorial Day instead of right near it.

I canceled a fishing trip today; it was supposed to cool down but is now progged to hit 90 again; many lakes are growing weeds and algae already. Can't remember a heat wave this early, though I don't think we actually met the criteria for an official one.

I caved and turned on the air yesterday.   Good way to make sure it works before the real heat and humidity gets here.

I turned the AC on and my wife forgot to shut the heat off upstairs so I had both going. Needless to say I was a bit upset......
