4" seems low for my area.  I'd say we're in a for a solid foot on this one, if we can get some mid-level magic.

I'd def take the over on 4" there...but I can understand being a bit conservative with still over 2 days to go. It wouldn't take a huge shift to make it a much lower impact. On the flip side, it also wouldn't take a huge shift on guidance to make it a much higher impact for those on the line in the BOS area.

Yea. I don't know if this is even something dynamics can overcome. With this stronger system and closer approach, per the 12z euro those east winds at the surface are really going to crank. I think the boundary layer will be flooded with maritime air in Boston, and points north and west of there. The trick is finding where that effect is offset by the dynamics and it's probably somewhere near KORH, and draw a line northeast from there.

Northeast MA will get smoked.

You might be in one of the better spots in MA for this one outside of the usual elevation zones N of the pike. NE MA has the most resistance to warming in the mid-levels with that high setup.

These always tend to disappoint south of the pike... something will go wrong somewhere.... more than likely.

Im expecting flakes to start with a flash to heavy rain

There will be some sleet up towards you..just a question of how long it lasts before the flip to heavy heavy urban flood inducing/monsoon like downpours.

not worried about the strong east winds? just asking

I wouldn't worry about that where he is...maybe within 5-10 miles of the coast. Only an issue if precip is light...but then again, if it is, then it wasn't worth the trouble anyway.

If mid-levels are cold enough and the precip is there, he will get smoked. 925mb is really cold.
