Really small cold dry air flakes here as it just started.  Got some dry Arctic air in the low levels to saturate first.

Radar looks nice.

My sister in Binghamton said they are getting clobbered and radar looks to be pivoting something out there.

Yeah growth isn't actually that bad. It's not amazing but I've seen a lot worse. Might be pretty good when the good stuff arrives.

Under the bright band we're having enormous aggregates.  I think the bright banding must be caused by greater reflectivity off a partial melting layer aloft.

Looking at 13z HRRR... would be ironic if Boston actually verified Blizzard criteria in a 3 hour window somewhere before 4pm...

This is quite the sleetstorm, a little bummed it happened so soon but I can't say I am surprised. Curious to see how far north this goes though.
