This is odd...Winter Storm Warning and Blizzard Watch up for the same event, that will surely confuse the public.

That's weird to issue a WSW and leave a Blizzard watch up. Going to confuse the hell out of people. Given the winds, I'm surprised that they didn't convert the blizzard watch to blizzard warning if they were going to issue warnings 36 hours in advance(which is also early, although I guess there's basically no way we don't verify 6" so it's a high confidence scenario in verifying a warning).

Curious ... why would you 'hope' for a blizzard warning ...?

I mean, what difference does it make?

Warning with frequent blowing and drifting causing restrictions to visibility may be hazardous ...blah blah should achieve the same result.

Just an aesthetic thing....same reason we enjoy the model runs as much as the event.

Yeeeah  I guess - makes sense...

Can't raise "blizzard trophies" before the blizzard if it's not issue -

Funny thing is, if it came in under the espouses of an Advisory, and raged in whiteout for 3.5 hours at insane fall rates... it would go down as a blizzard in the annuls.  Not an "Advisory that positive busted"

From a purely entertainment perspective ... people need their presaged dystopian drama, huh?

Yeah... the consternation's definitely going to boil over into public outcry because the difference in those descriptions is so vastly different as to not even be comparable..

haha, j/k -
