This band is great. The snow just keeps coming. I'm not sure what they call it up here in New England for snow, but down when I was living in Austin, TX we'd get these same kind of narrow bands (going SW->NE) develop once they got beyond the mountains in Mexico. The mets on TV called it "train"ing bands when they moved through because the rain would just keep coming like an endless line of traincars. Caused some major flooding in low lying areas right before Halloween 2015. You can see an animated version of it here:

those squalls yesterday afternoon were something else. I-93 from 128 up to the NH border was "fun". very heavy snow, vis was down to 1/8 mile or so. went through another one in Manchester nh which was even heavier. Roads got dicey real quick.
