Isn't that where all the cool people hang?

Seriously, I'm staying with friends while I'm attending some work meetings at NCSU through Tuesday.

2 EF-2 tornados confirmed in SC yesterday ! One in Spartanburg county and another in Union

No. Up in Cherokee county northwest of Gaffney. Actually this one was about 3-4 miles northwest of where I was at the time.

This was quite the unexpected severe weather outbreak. The SPC had this as marginal on the day before. I thought there would be several severe reports, but not 14 tornadoes and 100 wind reports

They put out tornado watches this time around though, and upgraded to slight risk the evening before....... they didn't do that for Nate.

Like with Nate, high-res models correctly showed a vigorous LLJ. I believe the Escarpment adds to these set-ups. CAMs also had individual cells. Finally the surface chart showed dews above 70 with screaming SSE winds. Atmo was ready to go again.
