Tornado damage with 1 injury in central NC, south of Raleigh (21:12z, 20:40z)

Tomorrow: the 18z NAM and NAM-3km show fairly significant CAPE and about 50 kt of 500mb wind in central NC. I would suspect that the slight risk for severe weather will be extended to include nearly all of GA, SC, and NC tomorrow.

Damage in Autryville seems bad so far, numerous building destroyed. The firehouse is a well built one too, all brick.

I believe that storm was unwarned for a pretty decent amount of time.

Also, wow:

This was the first time I seen an EAS send the Tornado Warning across the entire TV screen here in Savannah. Usually its a scroll.  The pics earlier were actually on Wilmington Island as well where some very tall oaks came crashing down on some homes there.

We have just had some heavy rains and some vivid lightning and thunder in the storms this late afternoon into this evening.   Now we are just getting some heavy rain right now here
