Pretty did event around here! Few reports of hail in Downtown Greenville , Pelham rd area and such . A few trees down and power lines . Peak power outages were around 16,000 , per local news!

Yeah this line meant business. We just got power back here from it. Winds had to be at least 60 MPH here, if not stronger. Only had pea sized hail here though.

March 1st I chased the cell that dropped gorilla size hail on Calhoun, GA. From Chattanooga I first considered Dalton along I-75, but the storm became a cluster. Then dropped all the way south to Adairsville, anticipating the core over Calhoun would be a car crusher. Thought about going west on GA Hwy-140 but I was not comfortable with a fast moving storm and FFC radar updating only every 10 min. HTX was totally out too, shocker there LOL. Mid level structure almost looked like the Plains. Waited at I-75 before following east on Hwy-140. Observed a sloppy scuddy horseshoe trying to get a wall cloud on the north end. At about US-411 the cell started to fall apart and was entering unchasable southern Appalachian foothills anyway. No pictures worth sharing. Just felt good to chase!

I borrow Gorilla Size Hail from Roger Edwards. Funny stuff! Apparently I should have stayed on the Dalton cell. FFC survey shows a tornado in Chatsworth, which I'm pretty sure came from the same cell. Oh well; it's Dixie Alley chasing...

For Tuesday, 3/21

RAH

Severe Potential: Very steep mid-level lapse rates, Spring
insolation and seasonable low-level moisture (dewpoints rising into
the mid/upper 50s) will yield as much as ~1000 J/kg of MLCAPE late
Tue aft/eve, in the presence of deep layer shear sufficient for
supercellular organization. With the above in mind, deep convection
that develops and/or propagates downstream into central NC Tue
aft/eve will have the potential to become severe, with a primary
threat of large hail and damaging winds. The threat for severe
weather will be greatest (relatively speaking) south of the
Highway 64 corridor between 5pm and Midnight. -Vincent

Some legit reports and pictures of baseball sized hail , near 85 and hwy 14, batesville rd and brushy creek road. Windshields busted out, cars were stranded on 85 and took a thrashing!

Yeah those hail videos and pics have been amazing. I just missued getting hit by.hail here...but the hail shafts were very visible with the storm near by. It was really quite striking.

Front end gust was worse than the actual rain storm.  A very nasty MCS is still headed ESE towards SC.

Got nailed hard with wind with the main line. The line got stronger after it past gaineville and I was a bit nervous waiting on it. Ended up with a 53 mph gust....fun but dont like storms like this at night ..wish I could have seen it during the day. ..really surprised power only got knocked out briefly. 160,000 without power currently according to channel 5.
