11 hours... had it back at 5am... my pws still records data without power, I have battery back-up, but it doesn't report online until powers back cause of no wifi

Sheesh, well at least you got some sleep.  If this happened in the middle of a blizzard, we'd be freezing our butts off.

But it actually feels refreshing today.

Yeah I have the same.  It actually gives off a rather annoying alarm noise when the main power is out.

Haha I need one of those, I was FREEZING after Sandy.

Ouch that reminds me of my sister's house in the Poconos with the well and no flushing with power outages.

Fortunately, I don't remember a power outage of that length there (at least in awhile.)

Lol the local TV stations are talking about snow for next weekend.

That's what happened to me in the Snowicane in 2010, lost power for four days. My brother and I took turns using his generator to run each oil burner and fridge. I went out right after that and got a generator of my own that I think I've only had to use once for my house. Im pretty sure I have more hours on it for tailgating than I do at the house LOL

crazy stuff

Yup... grills done, need to replace entire section of my back deck railing, cap for my chimney blew off, and 1 piece of siding came off but luckily isn't damaged so should be a quick fix... gotta love brand new houses, I might as well have built this house with cardboard

That was one amazing storm, nearly two feet of high water content snow and storm force winds lol.

Back to last night, looks like three tornadoes were confirmed, an EF1 in SE PA, an EF2 in NE PA 12 mile path south of Scranton, and an EF1 in Mass.

Extremely lucky that didn't track one mile further west up the populated valley.

How close did that get to Carbon County / Jim Thorpe / Albrightsville / Penn Forest Township area? I am going up there this weekend to check on my property- I'm nervous about fallen trees and such.

Looks like the first confirmed PA tornado for the month of February.

yeah, in the Poconos lol- I thought they had 2 in this outbreak though?

I have a question about the EF scale, Chris- why did they make a new scale instead of adjusting the wind values in the old scale? Like, for example, they adjusted the wind values in the Saffir Simpson scale a few years ago why didn't they do the same for the F scale instead of making a brand new scale?

They updated it to match the observed storm damage more accurately.

But couldn't they go back and update the past storms too instead of using the same old numbers for them?  You could just change the F scale to match the EF numbers.
