Yeah I know, but why doesn't KBUF see that their accumulation graphics are always different than their surrounding offices.  KALB does a better job for their Northern counties that get hit pretty hard, than that of KBUF.  I'm not bashing them but rather trying to bring some awareness.

I am sure they all do coordinate, even if not specifically mentioned in the AFD every time... but when it comes to generating forecast maps, pretty sure the staff mets are not sitting on a conference call while hovering over a graphics app tweaking every little map contour...too many other things to do on shift....

Latest SWS

A BAND OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL AFFECT SOUTHWESTERN OSWEGO AND
NORTHERN CAYUGA COUNTIES...

A band of lake effect snow producing snow fall rates of 2 to 3
inches an hour will focus between Fair Haven and Oswego while
extending 10 to 15 miles inland of the lakeshore to just past
Fulton. This band is expected to remain nearly stationary, or to
drift slightly northeast through 830 p.m. Travel will be extremely
difficult in this heavy snow with near zero visibility

I'm just about ready for that SE ridge and huge extended warm-up because the current pattern isn't doing jacks*#t for us. I'll take our chances with a reset in the second half of the winter.

Took a little ride earlier today to chase that Lake Erie band. The rates were very impressive. Prob a solid 2" an hour. These pics were from North Collins where there was AT LEAST 2ft on the ground (didn't have a measuring tape with me). The parking lot I was in had a solid foot of pure fluff in it which I'm assuming fell since last night. This was at 3pm and judging by radar I wouldn't be surprised if there's another 6-12" on top of this already with more to come. I would bet Forestville is over 50" since they were at 37" as of 8am this morning and they've been under that band for a good part of today.

That band never made it to me, kept dying out just to my west. Only had a few flakes in the air.

Stayed just my north...got cloudy but it's bright and clear now!  And cold.  The only white on the roads here is the dried out salt spray. ;)
