Friday night still looks very interesting for northern and/or elevated areas. Looking at the soundings, that would be rain -> snow -> sleet -> rain imby, but another tick or two colder and an epic paste job would be within reach. I've been idly watching this threat for something like a week now, and I am pleasantly surprised that a wintry event is still in the card

Same here.. Areas above 1000' might be in for a pleasant surprise. I think its still a long shot for low elevations but like you said there is still time for things to trend colder.

Counties in central New York, and Wayne, Lackawanna and Pike
  Counties in northeast Pennsylvania.

Did anyway bother to get a measurement in Orange County on whatever sleet/snow/frozen crap that fell overnight? There's remnants of it on the lawn and deck but most has been washed away from the 34-35 degree rain since early morning.

Around 7am had a pretty good amount of sleet otg being washed away by rain. Current temp 36°

Bill Evans calling for wet snow down to NYC and LI tomorrow morning and "heavy wet snow" with accumulations north of I-84.

Sitting in a Texas pub at dfw. My flight is delayed an hour due to rain in Newark. Guy next to me has a belt buckle as big as can of coke.  His cowboy hat is legit too. This is a pro rider.

snow....not likely.

if I had any sleet it was gone by the time I got up, no measurement from me.

The Wallkill is over it's banks in spots around here but currently dropping. We shall see what this week brings.

I was on 84 yesterday and noticed that. It's been a long time since the river has been that high. Also, seeing those temporary lakes in the median of 84 between Stewart and Middletown. Upton also hoisted a Flood watch up, It's been a long time since seeing that up this way too.

Yeah, it could be that it's the highest it's been since September 2011, or will be this week. Its been relatively dry for several years now.
