The big story from here on out will be the drought. D4 drought is coming back in a big way for this spring and summer. This summer will be much hotter than last summer. A lot like 2007 except it goes for 3 months instead of 1. Someone hits at least 115, if not higher, this summer.

Anyone complaining of drought in nc and sc needs to look at what north Georgia just went through.

Is there any climatology or science behind this or are you just guessing? Let's not throw out wild opinions as facts without some science or reasoning behind it.

What are you smoking? The vast majority of our warm winters do NOT equate to a warm summer. In fact, it's usually quite the opposite. Don't go posting crap like this without facts to support it.

There's a building Nino, and that makes for a wetter pattern over the summer and the Bermuda highs should help with afternoon storms! More moisture should limit extreme widespread heat. There's no way this summer can be as dry as last!

It may be hotter than last summer, but the big question is will it be humid or will be a dry, desert heat ? I'll take temps in the 90s and dewpoints in the 30s this summer.

Generally we do not have back to back dry summers.  However we are dry now and have been so definitely not a good sign.  But what would I know I am landscape contractor.

Hard times ahead for you. Cacti do not require much care.

Shetley always does this.  Runs in, gives a hot take on how bad the drought will be, and then never shows back up again until the next drought declaration, which is usually on the heels of widespread flooding.

Yeah generally developing el Ninos are cooler than normal in the east during summer.  There's been a few exceptions but even those are usually marginally above normal and are skewed by August more often than not being the hot month.   If I remember right both 1982 and 2002 were cold til August and then were very hot that month.

Should see a increase in severe setups as well as the storm track through the Ohio valley appears to be setting back up on the models. Towards the end of the latest GFS runs the GOM really opens up should provide some serious threats by the beginning of April.

Looks wet this week!
