Well Well, an underperforming SWFE that's gonna warm up and melt tomorrow with temps approaching 40.  This December to remember, is gonna turn ugly. I just have a bad feeling but then again that seems the norm lately.  I know its early in the event, but looking at the returns, darker returns approach and dry up, then refire to our East.

Not up here. Pixie dust

Well to be fair, even though NWS started the advisory earlier this afternoon to match up with the first returns, the models weren't really showing much accumulation for north central NY until later this evening starting around 3z. Latest runs of NAM and HRRR still showing a slug of moderate to heavy snow coming through C NY between 6-10z and that seems to match up well with the radar showing the main shield of precip well back to the west over lower MI, OH, and northern IN.

We are running about 2" here in Buffalo so we are on track to get the 3-5" NWS is calling for, it's better than nothing considering we only had an inch so far this winter lol..

Over 3 inches here now.  Snow has picked up quite a bit in the last hour.

Ya just went out to measure and to my surprise there's 3.4" on my car and still coming down pretty good but not as heavy as 30 minutes ago. Thinking we may pick up another 1-2" which would be a decent little event.

I love what the HRRR is showing for early tomorrow morning lol

The HRRR was as completely wrong with the early stages of the recent event, so I highly doubt a strong band will end up developing tomorrow with marginal 850 T's.

Which begs the question, how can such a short-term, high-res model be so off?
