Thanks,  Yea cad usually doesn't make it west of the balsams

CAD is an ugly thing sometimes. You could be sitting in Brevard and be staring at 11" then go over Cashiers/Highlands into Franklin and it be all rain. Redux of the Jan 2016 storm however that was colder than this.

NAM gonna hammer SW WNC including Buncombe again this run. Overrunning tongue of precip sets up absolutely perfect for Asheville on this run.

Yea almost 10 inches for the airport and more in Balsams.. it all depends on where that tongue of precip sets up

I know overrunning events can overperform, but 10"? That seems over done. Ha ha.

Euro was 4", GFS was 2" or so. NAM scored the coup last major storm in January. But I can't do 10".

These 2 storms are making my head spin. Are you talking about the weekend storm or Monday? I was under the impression wnc was talking about Monday but then again, my eyes are as crooked as congress from trying to keep up. :P

Haha yeah it does seem a bit overdone. GFS isn't backing down though only a 1-3 event for Buncombe with a snow hole special and then a whiff on the Tuesday stuff because it's too warm. Could very well be correct. I am thinking that the GFS is really struggling with the phase though.

3-5 seems like a good call for the central and southern mtns. Probably some 6-8 jackpots in the higher ridgetops

GSP thinks the same. Watch upgraded to a warning.

Funny thing is macon, southern jackson, Transylvania, and Henderson counties are not in the warning and not even an advisory.   Doesn't make much sense.

Slightly off topic but geez these refs have hijacked this Duke UNC game. Duke shot 19 free throws to unc 8. While Duke has attempted more threes and not penetrating the basket as much as unc. Should be the other way around.

Can't say anything as a UNC fan. Refs screwed Duke twice first half.

Seems like they do that quite often only to add them at the last minute.

Just give me 4 inches. That's my threshold of what I consider a small, but decent "snow". Above 8 and it becomes a good snow on the SnoJometer.

I agree. I'll enjoy my Sunday outside with the kids. The jan storm was powder so I drive my truck up and down my driveway a few time and turned it into a luge track. Wet snow is definitely the best.
