Active Severe Weather Pattern Beginning Next Week

Currently the best looking supercell is in Mexico lol. Tops to 63KFT, has 60+dbz at 43KFT. Likely producing monster hail. Storm near Hedley, TX is looking quite sad right now, lost its SVR warning, tops below 40KFT now... Meanwhile CU is becoming increasingly agitated in NW OK/SW KS... Harper/Woods Co. OK, and Clark/Comanche Co. KS.

Heading E towards Alva, have a nice updraft right in front of me.

Looks like some stuff is trying to get going in Comanche county Kansas, as well as that stuff in front of you thats in Woods county OK. Just not shooting off yet... Which might be better, later initiation will likely mean a better tornado threat.

Its been a mega beast for over a hour, at one point having duel hooks. Its one of the more impressive supercells I've seen this year.

According to mesoanalysis there is 7000 SBCAPE near that storm across the border....

Explains it.

Must be quite a cap in place or something...LLVL winds looks pretty meager on the VNX/DDC VWPs. Any storms in and north of the panhandle are just dying off.

The panhandle storms are fighting CIN (and losing), but I suspect the real problem is more a lack of upper support. There’s nothing as of yet to help these cells maintain robust updrafts, no clearly defined feature that would provide the strong upper wind fields needed, especially at h700, leaving updrafts vulnerable to very modest amounts of inhibition. I would guess this is one of those days where the missing ingredient (so far, anyway) has been the proverbial Large Scale Ascent, a term that is frequently tossed around in forecasts but almost never precisely defined, but which can make or break a chase day. In any event, low level winds should now be increasing, which should help things considerably.

Yeah... winds at H7 are garbage today. 4000+J/KG of CAPE does not help crap if you have meager wind fields. Updraft longevity today has been terrible. With that said... as ct_yankee said, with LLVL winds increasing from both nocturnal-LLJ and influence from S/W over SE CO, storms might have a better chance at maintenance.

TOR warning out for Woodward, OK now

Starting to get better organized... Quite a number of chasers on this storm! Is the first storm i've seen today over TX PH/W OK that actually seems legit. Top is nearly to 60KFT... Most other storms today could not even achieve 50KFT.

 Pretty close to producing...

Has anyone kept track of how long that supercell has been going in mexico? Has a nice couplet right now. Pretty ridiculous...

Believe it developed sometime around 3pm, so its been going strong for quite a while!
