Severe Weather Threat in the ArkLaTex Monday 4/11/2016

Even if they don't exist, which I would disagree with their questioning, there is evidence of strong damage that occurs from these enhanced pockets of shear. The problem is severe warnings in a squall line don't carry the same weight as a tornado warning.

I agree, 100 mph is very strong wording in a SVR, but a TOR and 100 mph gets more attention. Just that radar signature alone, I don't know how you can hold off from issuing a TOR on it with such a prominent hook echo on reflectivity and strong rotation on velocity. Anyone with enough radar savvy would be right to wonder the difference between seeing the hook in that qlcs and others and on supercells and how one would get a SVR and the other a TOR.

A few sups from San Antonio down towards Eagle Pass...

The north side of San Antonio got crushed with some huge hail, dBZ of 65-70 up to 18000' as it passed north of the city. Twitter has a few pictures already coming in of what looks like 3-4" hail stones.
