I'm hot and miserable.

Motsco is probably gone now that it's summer and he can no longer heat-troll us. That usually is more effective in the winter, all 3 days of it that we get.

Poor guy. I can't wait to troll him when winter returns in 2018.

Mine have exploded this morning.  First time this season I've had to medicate   :sleepy: .  We need rain, and a lot of it....badly.

Nasalcort, Azelastine, and Zyrtec.  Good cocktail combo!

A balloon sinuplasty last fall didn't hurt any either. :)

eta:  I forgot a daily sinus rinse too.

how do you even function on all that medicine? lol

Claritin here -- with some motrin for inflammation

did a salt water gargle to help my throat

took a little nyquil last nigh to help me sleep, as well as a nasal strip on my nose, which helps a lot.

i try to avoid nasal sprays until completely congested, which thankfully I'm not. just stuffy, and the post nasal drip, which is what is killing me the most.

Normally, I really dislike taking medicine, including allergy meds even though when it comes to pollen and ragweed I'm up there with the worst of them when it comes to suffering.  I got shots as a kid for years, and then started getting them again as an adult about 12 years ago, but they are so inconvenient that I stopped.

My current problems started about a year and a half ago when I got one of my annual winter sinus infections.  Even after clearing up, one of my ears stayed clogged.  Obviously, it was annoying but I didn't think it was a big deal until I went to an ear doctor after about 3 weeks of constantly asking people, "Huh?," over and over.  He immediately took it more seriously than I had and injected steroids behind my ear drum (ouch) and again a week later.   It's been a battle ever since trying to get the ear to clear, including tubes (I feel like a four year old!).

It's much better now but the inhalants during the spring and fall helped keep me clear.  And although I react to antihistamines and psuedophedrine by getting wired and jumpy, the stuff I'm taking doesn't bother me.

And if anyone is susceptible to regular sinus infections and have been told that surgery is an option but doesn't like the idea of anything invasive, balloon sinuplasty worked really well for me and my sinuses are way better.

Anyway, I'm just glad to be able to be outside and not suffer like I used to.

Allergies? What are those?  :P

I don't normally suffer from allergies, but the last couple of mornings I've even woken up with an irritated throat and runny nose -- Very annoying. So I know the folks that normally suffer are probably wishing Spring never existed right now.

Glad you're alive!

I usually don't have allergies but I could barely breathe yesterday.

hehe, thanks! I knew someone would miss me if not ;)

This year is by far the worst I've had from them. I usually take Claritin year-round, or mostly year-round. And never have any need to take more than that. But the past few days have been bad. Yesterday was terrible, made even worse with the wind. I'll get through it, just need rain.

I feel for my kid, as it seems she has allergies too. Runny nose, itchy eyes, sneezing. And her poor face is so dry (she's always had really sensitive skin, cannot apply enough lotion on her in the winter). This week is tough because daycare is closed, so we've been home with her, and she wants to be outside playing. So that just compounds both the allergies and the dry skin.

Good times in the Mappy household haha

I never had allergies (or they were mild at worst) until I hit my 40's. Now every year they are a little worse. This is the first year I've had to take allegra every day and I've suffered from burning nose and throat with some bloody noses. I don't think this year is any different pollen wise. I think getting older is the real issue.

If I don't post again, allergies killed me

Yea they have hit my oldest daughter hard this time. She keeps saying she has a sore throat. Though it was strep but it is just raw from all the drainage. May need to start putting her back on something.

The human body can be weird. Like you, I went 60 years without ever being allergiuc to anything. Now three years later, I take Claritin every day and seem to have a constant runny nose. And since I have been in my house for 30 years, and golfing at the same club for 20 plus years, it is not like there is anything new in my enviroment.

Car is totally green.  Not washing it until Friday.  I am not normally prone to allergies but this year is different.  Ugh.  Hoarse, sniffling, sneezing….  Trying to stay away from medicine, but it is hard.

I work outdoors and you'd think that would help build an immunity.  Nope.  This week has been rough.  Tons of sneezing and eyes being itchy and stingy.

I saw a show a few years ago about allergic reactions.  They basically said that we are all allergic to everything but our systems handle certain things without much trouble.  then all it takes is one extra exposure and the switch is flipped and we have stronger reactions.

Best solution is to all wear diving helmets outside.

I scraped up all the pollen on my car and snorted it.  Go big or go home.

Nah, don't worry. It happens very gradually. You'll enjoy your 30's and then sometime in your 40's you'll realize your warranty is long expired and you're falling apart. By then you're staring down the barrel of the end game and just start rooting that you'll make it to at least 70. No biggie.

Hmmm...never thought of that. I usually pack a bowl of pollen and smoke it. Snorting sounds much healthier though

I just need my powertrain warranty to keep going.  The bumper to bumper ran out years ago due to milage.

No doubt. If I had known I was going to live this long already I would have taken better care of myself. Then again Im worth more dead than alive so I'm uncertain that my kids and wife want me to live to 70. They might be tainting my beer for all I know.

LOL!

Yep, all flat surfaces here are dusty and a shade of green.......UGH. Rain is needed.

Yesterday felt better, previous two days were July 4th in April...yuck. Only bonus is the cooler air in am, just back in from morning hike, 40's SO MUCH better than 70's/low 80's. The 'clothes switch' is official, shorts out, jeans packed away until October/November.

Son ended up with 22 inches of snow the other day, those 40+ amounts in foothills were insane. So looking forward to heading out there end of May.

For some reason that 80's song 'Tainted Love' got stuck into my head with that line.......
