Winter Storm-Upstate NY-2/15-2/16

Recommended Posts

Just shy of 3" here. Currently moderate snow, estimate about 0.75"/hour.  Storm seems to be zipping along now.  I'm guessing we top out around 8" in BUF.  Jackpot looks to be a 50-mile wide corridor from about Wellsville to Roch, which is pretty close to BUF's forecast from yesterday (about 30 miles further east).

I was surprised to find about 4 inches of concrete snow on my deck this morning. I'm getting freezing rain now soon to change to plain rain. Hopefully I can get 2-4 inches on the backside this afternoon. That would give me around 6 inches which would make this storm a qualified success. I'm concerned about road conditions this afternoon if we get a burst of snow as temperatures fall below freezing and the sun is setting.

Just came from outside shoveling and it's coming down pretty good, i have piled up additional 0.7" since my last posting and I'm up to 3.7" so far as of 7:03AM.

Glad I decided to stay home. Commute from southern Livingston to downtown didn't look appealing. Back to snow here after an hour of fzra.

Absolutely pouring snow right now. Gotta be over and inch and hour and approaching 2 inches an hour rates. Roads are a disaster. Mix to sleet and graupel starts around fairport.

Whoever is riding that line is jackpotting big time!

Model consensus looks to be holding strong - maybe some 30 mile eastward shift in the heaviest stuff, especially in the western finger lakes, but nothing like last night's hallucinations of major eastward shifts.
