Was out in it this morning on an errand north of here (Abington) and just got back home.  Currently very fine light snow and fog with about 1/8" dusting on everything including treated streets.  Temp 21F and winds light and steady out of the SE.  It didn't really get going enough to start coating anything until the past hour or so here.

Snowing near moderate now here in NW Chesco

Could reach the 40" mark for the season before change over

Also still snowing at the jersey shore in looking at my Sea Isle City webcam

Temp here up to 20.6

Wind ENE at 3 mph

Changeover should reach tip of Cape  may in the next 10-15 mins based on CC

Doorman posted this 2M air temp map, check out how warm the ocean air is...here is why the change over happens faster than some might have anticipated...

It always works out this way.  People focus on how slowly DC changes over and the advancement of the changeover from south to north.  The problem is, in out neck of the woods the changeover typically occurs sooner due to later advancement of the changeover from SE to NW.

Yup, couldn't have said it better. I lived(suffered) through the '70s and remembered being frustrated how cold it could be then every shot at snow we would have there was a worry of it changing over to rain. Perfect thread title referencing the '70s storm.

3PM obs

Snow

Snow so far 0.5"

Seasonal total now at 37.1" (normal for entire winter here in NW Chesco is 36.0")

Temp 21.9

East Nantmeal Township

Chester County PA

Snow picking up in intensity with some banding appearing on the radar to the south of the MD line

That is in all likelihood associated with sleet based on CC
