sucks, I just need to see the ground covered here once, and its not happening but we are soooo close lol....damn warm nose....34 and dumping sleet/rain

I still think you should cash in for a bit in just about 1-2 hrs  :D  Don't give up yet  :D

About the same here so at-least we all got screwed together. A little ip accumulation in the eves, that's about it. Still a few pellets mixing in and one heck of a melt going on over the coastal plain this morning per radar. We got the NW trend inside of 48hrs and meaningful qpf made it to us, temps on the other hand, yeah, they trended not in our favor, go figure. May be one of those years where we go without measurable snow here. I am all in for the clipper, at this point we don't have anything to lose.

  True     Clippers don't do much of anything here...stoopid downsloping  :(   It does look like a lot of peeps will watch the flakes fly though. Fingers crossed!

Never mind.  Big flakes definitely starting to mix in more now, hardly any sleet is pinging the stove vent now.

Sweet!

I wonder if the returns around FLO are bringing any wintry precip mixed in

Looking at this amazing system taking shape in a favored position off the se coast, yet no winter storm to show for it for any of us, an old story comes to mind. The one where the porridge is either too hot or too cold or just right.

We get the slp in the spot we want it and in early February. But its precip shield is small and the cold air is not abundant. I guess in this case the porridge is not just right.

Still some folks are getting a little frozen stuff, maybe someone will eak out a bit of accumulating sleet and some snow mixed in. For me, it looks like it could start something any moment, but for now it is dry and I am too far north and too far west of the action.

Things could get interesting around here. Temp has dropped from 37 at 6:00 to 33 now. Not good for the bridges/overpasses.

Been stuck at 33-34 here since 7am if we just got rid of this 850 warm nose I bet we would see a quick 2-4" but as usual the damn warm nose aint going nowhere it seems.....or it will right before the precip shuts off so we go all snow for 30 mins lol....

AS OF 1015 AM SUNDAY...

...SHORT FUSE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR JOHNSTON...WAYNE...WILSON

AND SAMPSON COUNTIES THIS MORNING WITH NUMEROUS TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS

REPORTED FROM BURSTS OF HEAVIER SLEET...

MSAS SHOWS A ~1003MB SURFACE LOW EAST OF CHARLESTON SC THIS

MORNING...IN RESPONSE TO A 553DM UPPER LOW PIVOTING OVER THE

SAVANNAH RIVER BASIN. THE PRECIP SHIELD NORTHWEST OF THE LOW

EXTENDS THROUGH THE NC COASTAL PLAIN....WHERE TEMP PROFILES ARE

MARGINAL FOR A WINTRY MIX OF PTYPES...A SLIGHT WARM NOSE OF 1-2C AT

5K FT AND SURFACE TEMPS IN THE 33-35F RANGE. HOWEVER...IN THE PAST

HOUR OR SO THE RATES HAVE BEEN HIGH ENOUGH FOR MELTING AND

WETBULBING TO PRODUCE PERIODS OF PREDOMINATELY SLEET IN

WILSON....WAYNE...JOHNSTON...AND NORTHERN SAMPSON COUNTIES. A

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THESE COUNTIES GIVEN

NUMEROUS TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS. DUAL POL CC SUGGESTS LIGHT TO MODERATE

SLEET WILL BE POSSIBLE AS FAR WEST AS RALEIGH AND SANFORD AS WELL.

RAP AND HRRR SOUNDINGS SHOW THE SMALL WARM NOSE CONTINUING TO COOL

THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON...SO ITS ENTIRELY POSSIBLY THAT PERIODS OF

MODERATE SLEET MAY PRODUCE A HALF INCH OF SO SLEET....WITH ANOTHER

QUARTER INCH OF QPF STILL POSSIBLE AS THE PRECIP BAND PIVOTS OVER

THE AREA.

Reports of sleet down I-95 into SC ... this could linger for a while. This would've been a heckuva snow storm if not for that @%#%@!! warm nose.

If I had a dollar for every time I have said that lol....

Still the latest Nam 12km says give it few more hrs and bang.....why cant these ever be right
