This is from the upper level low in the great lakes, it just usually doesn't make it this far east. This happens in Northwest Georgia quite a bit. No time to read backwards today but wanted to post my snow experiences on the way down 85 to Hotlanta today. Very cool scene around Greenville SC when I could look to the west and see the snowburst clouds coming off the mountains being underlit by the mid morning sun. Hard to describe, just cool. Then about 40 miles north of Atlanta, around the 985 split I think, I got under one of those snow bursts and it was a damn blizzard! Ground went white to a dusting in no more than 2 miles and the temp dropped from 39 to 32 instantly. Slushy highway at 80mph doesnt work out well. Made it downtown for my meeting and we were on the 24th floor around 3pm. I looked up and it was a wall of white coming at us. Snowed so hard in downtown for about 5 minutes you literally could not see the building next door. Hope all you GA folks got to witness some of what I saw today. Definitely unexpected!
