I measured about 5.5 to 6 inches from last nights snow with a base of 8 inches in spots. I sound like a ski resort .

Rain and snow mix now falling. Man I wish we didn't get dry slotted. This storm really could of ranked up there with 96.

Well looks like the dry slot is starting to fill in. No precip falling here yet, but temps are already falling. Was at 37, now down to 33. Dropped 4 degrees in 30 minutes.

Back to moderate snow SW of Kingsport. Visibility has dropped toward the west and south. This is the best it's looked in a few hours!

I'm 13 miles south of Kingston about 20 minutes ago I had 50/50 rain/sleet in one of the more intense echos.  Think we are closing in on changing over soon.

Sweet, I think I'm gonna drive west until I see the white's of it's eyes.  Getting too impatient here.

Just intermittent rain right now a few miles east of Kingston.  Temps have edged up to 35.9.  Sadly, no changeover here yet.

Husband just got back from Rockwood...he says intermittent light rain there as well.  No sign yet of any sleet or snow mixing in.

Here in west Kingsport, getting some light snow and a bit of sleet is falling.  Occasional moderate rates get rid of the sleet.  This is opposite of a northwest flow event for us.  Normally, we don't get much w/ those while I81 and points eastward do.  We get downsloped on those.  Right now w/ southeast flow, it is an upslope effect.  You can see the lines of precip get stronger west of I81.

Perennial lurker here, but wanted to post about this . . .  Anybody else seeing the meso-vortex looking thing on the east side of the Nashville radar moving NE? What's going on with that?

Heavy sleet, rain storm at the moment here...with snow mixed in.  Keeps switching back and forth.  If temps were just a few degrees cooler...

Officially up to a foot now.

Edit. I have a round glass table outside that I've always used to measure my snow. Not sure if this is the best way but 12 inches is what the tape measure is going down to in the middle of it.
