Got 2.07" from 2 storms, watered the garden and probably flattened it some.  Rainiest/brightest one was last evening, lots of CG (20-30/minute) and all the bolts I saw were single - no forks.  Lost power after a strike about 2,000' away where the lines on our little road meet the feed for much of the north half of town.  Surprisingly, lights came on an hour later.  The 4-5 AM TS was more garden-variety, but would've been the best of the year except for what came thru 7 hr earlier.  Heard a report of 2.5" hail somewhere interior York County.

Is that 3-4" of rainfall within 1-2 hours along I-90/NYS Thruway? Difficult to travel in that type of rainfall.

Yup and I drove right through it at peak for about 90 minutes into VT. No hail...just frequent CG, some wind, and insane rain. There was bigtime ponding in Troy over that bridge going over the Hudson. I had the wipers on high speed and could barely see a thing. Saw a tree on fire too...I assume hit by a CG. Fun but stressful drive.
