Spring is on the doorstep. We'll effortlessly reach 49 degrees today and get rid of all this dirty snow. If not today, then Wednesday for sure with heavy rainfall and 68 degrees. By sundown Wednesday you will be able to look outside and never ever even guess it was once winter here. People will be out walking around with summer clothes on, playing tennis, drinking beer, roasting hot dogs on their grills and laughing at East Massachusetts folk who will be huddling in their homes still surrounded by dirty piles of chilly snow. No probs here in Dale City, ice on trees is melting super fast. We can handle some wind gusts. Besides, Winchester has got some elevation. Jebman Posted March 2, 2015 Share Posted March 2, 2015 Okay. I was dead WRONG about those wind gusts. Just got hit with a 30 mph gust. It brought down a small branch off my front yard tree. I am very thankful that tree ice is melting so fast. 42 degrees, 35 dewpoint. Mixing and downsloping is warming sfc temps pretty well. If the winds from the fropa had hit us last night, we would have had a lot of issues with fallen branches and some trees because of ice loading. Timing with this front was perfect.
