When it shows that in Central PA, it usually verifies. Hopefully for you it doesn't.

 

If it were the Canadien; I'd be concerned...the NAM...not so much.  I'm to the east in Suffolk...so, knowing the NAM....it may have the right idea; but just displaced it 30 miles to the left.  This is probably a mostly snow event from Staten Island north...maybe even the 40th parallel north..at least from 40.5 N.

06z gem-lam is pretty snowy, curious to see how it trends from here

 

 

 

I did not even know until someone told me recently that the HRDPS was the GEM LAM...was does HRDPS stand for?

Thnxs for all the explanations...those Canadien models confuse me...it took me at least a year to figure out the difference between the GGEM & the RGEM...still not quite sure I know what it is...lol.

Treat it like this.

The GGEM is a global like the GFS and the Rgem is a short range model like the NAM.

Then the Gem-Lam is like using the HRRR.
