Who writes these things? Our NWS forecast called for 1"-3" for today ---- and the Observer comes out with this nonsense...

UPDATE: A snowstorm fueled by moisture that computer models had not anticipated for the Triangle closed many schools Tuesday and sent emergency personnel chasing dozens of crashes on slippery roads ‪#‎ncwx‬

Well, the models did show this yesterday. The local media and mets just chose to ignore it.

I'm surprised the NandO didn't blame the snow on UNC.

No additional snow since late morning.  Got almost 2" snow and a little bit of icy glaze.

Interestingly, the progged highs today are looking to be waaaay off.  We were forecast to hit 42 today.  It's almost 1pm and we are still at 31 degrees.  Between the clouds and below freezing temp, not a single flake has melted.

Our forecast high tomorrow is only 37.  I wouldn't be surprise if we bust low again, as we often do.  If that's the case this 2" might still be on the ground when the next wave hits tomorrow.   :snowing:
