January Obs Thread

Exactly like what happened here in CHS a few weeks ago as the cold front went through, only with snow instead of sleet. Temps well above freezing but above surface temps are below freezing.

I've had snow, sleet, cold rain, freezing rain, freezing drizzle and freezing fog twice. And out of all those events, the freezing fog had more moisture by like 100 to 1. Still haven't seen any accums on ground other than countless frost. Never had a winter where atleast an inch of snow didn't accumulate. But I'm getting nervous.

Are people really getting excited about a storm 190 hrs out.. ive learned my lesson this year.. without blocking no high pressure will stay in place to give us cold air.

January

MBY

Low: 36.0 High: 52.8

CAE

Low: 34 High: 56

CAE was exactly average for the month of January and 1.5F above average for the meteorological winter thus far.  CAE only recorded 2.6 inches of rain for the month of January, which is .98 inches below average, and CAE is .3 inches below average for the meteorological winter.

Not exactly your prototypical el nino year.
