Mid Atlantic Snow totals thread for winter 2014/15

I am at 23 3/4" for the season after the last two events (7 1/4", 1 1/2").

Total snow for this storm in Salisbury, Maryland was 5 inches.

 

That puts our seasonal total up to 13.9 inches, which is a few inches above average. We only average 10 inches.

What are you at? Is there any specific storm where I measured much higher?

I am north of you, adjacent to White Flint metro station. None of them were much higher; the majority were higher than my total. I did measure more than you from the Saturday storm. I don't think one way or another about how you're measuring. We're in range with each other and the other North Bethesda total, as well as the Rockville numbers.

11/26/14: 0.10 (Snow began to stick on grass/other surfaces but the lighter rates caused it to change back to rain)

12/4/14: 0.10 (Sleet)

12/12/14: 0.25 (Snowed for 3 hours. Moderate at times.)

1/6/15: 3 Inches (Cold Snow. At the end the snow was big fluffy flakes)

1/21/15: 3 Inches (Heavy wet snow. Covered everything).

1/23/15: 0.10 (Mixture of Sleet, Freezing Rain, & Snow)

1/26-27/15:  1.55 inches (About 1 inch in the morning and the rest in the evening/overnight. Some sleet/freezing rain).

2/1/15: 0.50 (A half of inch of snow washed away)

2/10/15: 0.10 (At least 0.10 of ice. Schools Closed).

2/12/15: Trace (Large Flakes that came down for 15-20 minutes but temps was 40 degrees)

2/14/15: 3 Inches (3 inches of snow in a quick squall) (A trace in the morning also.)

2/16-17/15: 4 Inches (Horrible rates & flake size)

2/18/15: 0.50 inch

2/21-22/15: 5.25 (5 inches of all snow, 0.25 of sleet/snow/freezing rain)

2/26/15: 2.5 Inches (Early morning snowfall, Schools Closed)

 

December: 0.45

January: 7.65

February: 15.85

Not a bad winter after an awful start -- 9" in Jan and almost 15" in Feb is pretty good considering no blocking.

I don't really keep track of traces anymore and I round totals to the nearest half-inch:

 

1/14: 0.5"

1/27: 1"

2/12: no accumulation, but heavy snow fell

2/14: ~1" (combined from both morning and evening bursts)

2/16-17: 7"

 

So that puts me at about 9.5" for the season. This town averages about 18-19 inches from what I've read.

 

2/18 - T (may have been a minor event <0.25", but I'll round down)

2/19 or 2/20 - T (sometime overnight, not sure which day it fell on)

2/21 - 0.5" snow/sleet mix

2/26 ~ 4"

 

Seasonal total ~ 14"

Not sure what my final total was.  I was at work before it stopped snowing.  Looks like some 2" reports in the latest info statement, but I'll wait to see the COCORAHS tomorrow.  Seasonal total will be 26-27".

Without any more snow, DCA is sitting at its 6th snowiest out of the last 20 season. IAD is the 4th snowiest out of the last 20, and BWI is its 5th snowiest out of the last 20.
