Historic Lake Effect Snowstorm

Have a question re: that 240 flow NWS Buffalo mentioned.  Thought that a 240 direction off of Erie should direct snowbands across north Buffalo and towards northtowns.  Is the flow actually 240 or more like 255-260?  Looks like the "firehose" of snow coming off of Erie will continue to blast the southtowns for at least the next 5-6 hours.     

 

I think Buffalo is closer to 230, the same direction does not always put bands in the same place, anticyclonic curvature can affect the bands placement as well as upstream connections...I was in Oswego and sometimes we could get hit on a 270 flow if the band had anticyclonic curvature, a 275-285 flow was ideal but sometimes those could end up south.
