Hoping to remain the SNE king of cad this year. Not really sweating any major snow loss the next few days since it will take hours for warmer temps to over take the upper Pioneer Valley. Yes, the snow should absorb the rain we have coming. It is a bummer that it has to warm up, but we will have plenty of cover left when the warmth recedes. I look at it as glaciating a 30"+ pack, thereby bulletproofing it, when the cold returns next week. Nothing like a rock solid base when the snow starts flying again. Advisory from 9 pm this evening through tomorrow morning. Mix of snow/sleet/freezing rain forecasted. Foothills progged for 1-3", then 0.1" ZR, followed by 0.4-0.5" RA. Given how nearly all 1-3"/2-4" forecast events have been at my place, I expect 0.5" SN/IP then the ZR/RA. Yesterday's event was forecast for 2-4" and resulted in 0.6" (which took almost 10 hr to accum), possibly the lowest for any reporting location in Maine/NH. Still 9" above my avg thru 2/20, so no whining allowed. The RA will probably knock down my 30+ snowpack to about 25", a nice platform to build upon so I can prune the apple trees from snowshoes rather than stepladder.
