I'm forgetting where I saw it, but there is some research out there that shows fair correlation to height of TDS and tornado strength for tornadoes above EF2. Hoosier Posted November 18, 2013 Author Share Posted November 18, 2013 While we don't know the final numbers yet I think it's pretty obvious that this was a historic outbreak especially given the time of year/location. Illinois had not had an F4/EF4 tornado in November in the modern era of 1950-present until yesterday. It's also the first day with 2 or more F4/EF4 or stronger tornadoes in the state since 6/2/1990. Gilbertfly Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 Apparently the debris I had falling at my home in Bolingbrook yesterday around 12:30 was indeed from the Washington tornado...there have been quite a few reports of debris (bank statements, photos, tar paper, etc.) found in Plainfield/Joliet area....Some of the debris found had Washington address' on them... The debris at my home was more in the realm of small pieces of tar paper and shredded corn husks... Edit: interestingly that pic is from the downtown area and facing north so it's not associated with all the damage on the south/east side of town. Superstorm93 Posted November 18, 2013 Share Posted November 18, 2013 NWS Gaylord has confirmed an EF-0 in Otsego County yesterday, and this is the farthest north there's been a tornado in Michigan in November, or this late in the year, in the period of modern tornado records (1950-present). I could see the final tornado tally going down for multiple reports on the same tornado....and it could also go up as some events are furthered investigated that may have been originally "dismissed" as a multi-report and are now found to be "new" tornados...or specific events that may not have even been reported in the first place... the event was very well handled by the offices....but i'm sure it was also somewhat chaotic with multiple areas of rotations being monitored at any given moment within' many WFO's...not to mention fielding/filtering the numerous reports that I'm sure were flooding in...plus office coordination as storm motions had these going from one WFO to the next fairly rapidly was also very well handled i feel if that makes sense Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Here, we got some penny sized hail along with a 5 second gust to 70 mph. Keener, the Lafayette pic is a hoax. The view is from 6th and Ferry Street in Lafayette as this Google street view shows. There are a couple features in there that shouldn't be...one, a flying saucer type object hovering over the roof on the right side of the church. Two, a mysterious creature getting ready to emerge onto the sidewalk on 6th street. Whoever faked it did a pretty good job.
