Tail end charlie looks to be getting its act together as well. Given the direction of the inflow into these things, all three of those cells might have chances. Ground Scouring Posted May 27, 2013 Share Posted May 27, 2013 WRF-NMM has underestimated the cap just a bit in the TX Panhandle and along the dry line in most of west KS...the long-lived discrete supercell that was expected to have developed ~30 minutes ago near Pampa, TX, is still absent from the radars. But I expect the latest activity NE of Hays, KS, to develop quite rapidly within the next 45 minutes, as the cap is clearly breaking there. Edit: Outflow boundary emanating from the storms SW of Hays is helping to spark activity off to the NE in KS. Not sure but I'm guessing they have their reasons. The lowest tilt is still a good 2000ft agl, so maybe they're waiting on spotters since there's so many in the area. EDIT: Looks like she occluded. Indystorm Posted May 27, 2013 Share Posted May 27, 2013 Will be interesting to see what happens when the Smith Co. tor warned storm is impacted by the northward moving 2 cells to its south. I think I read on this board somewhere that one met thought a similar impact from another storm gave the Moore storm enough curvature to drop the tornado and another storm impacting it at the end caused the RFD to help the meso occlude.
