Snow in Reston...4" measured on my car but my wife says it's been snowing all day and there was about 3" at 5am!

Just drove from College Park to Reston...conditions about the same until I literally hit Reston...then mostly snow and slushy Toll Road...and back roads.

My 9" of snow has changed to rain. Currently staring at 3 bored kids after grilling hot dogs and hamburgers in the rain. The entire CHO area is out of power. Sometimes rain doesn't suck as much as it seems.

You have rain in CHO??? Ugh...

Prince William County has been doing very well. It's been snowing very steadily with nice, fluffy snowflakes, and the last two hours has been especially heavy. It started snowing last night around 10 PM, and as far as I know, it hasn't stopped since then. Never saw a drop of rain, either. Snow has collected nicely on all trees and shrubs, and everything looks beautiful. Measurements taken on flat surfaces range between 4.5 and 5 inches, but it's piled higher than that on bird feeders and places like that. I could post pictures if anyone is interested...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, someone in the DC area must have done something really bad and has pissed off Mother Nature.  She performed a castration today.

Raining in CHO?  WSWs cancelled and replaced with WWAs?

Ok, looks like I'm having crow for dinner tonight.    :axe:

Did the northern stream have anything to do with this? Did the GL Low act as kicker, shunting the system further south than expected??

There must be a meteorological explanation for why this happened. This outcome is just too divergent from what was forecasted by any of the Big-3

Doesn't really look like the low itself went south.  There is a nearly stationary 994 low sitting in the mouth of the bay.  Pretty much right where the GFS had it.

It's been snowing for 15 hours..... maybe 2+" :(

LWX drops all warnings. Those close to 95 have advisories, out west by the mountains and out towards the bay have nothing.

Harford County is not under any warnings or advisories.  Rain, rain, rain.
