Low 40's here on LI. Hopefully we can get some quick radiational cooling as the sun goes down before the precip arrives, if that will do anything.

Only would happen if you have clear to mostly clear skies and light winds. However temps should drop some do to evaporational cooling.

All those NYC snowfalls when I was a little guy. No wonder why I love snow.   :)

Christmas eve 1978 had rain with some wet snow mixed in and it continued into Christmas morning...over an inch of rain fell in the city but places like Port Jervis NY. got 7-10" of snow...

Remember it well..we were that!! close!..Christmas eve's I remember at of course 1966..and the arctic cold outbreaks of 80 and 83..some snow showers in 93..2 inches that fell in the morning of the 24th in 1998 and last year..yes it did snow on Christmas eve

last year did have some wet snow flakes and a minor accumulation in spots but Christmas day was wet...

Christmas eve 1964 was foggy and the snow that was left from the 12/20 storm melted before midnight...temperatures on Christmas day were in the 60's and the following two days...I was in shock...It did get colder after New Years and snowed on four straight weekends...1965 was rainy and 59...The 1960'w had some bad moments also...
