Here is a novel idea….if you don’t want to read/hear about, stay off the board. Good grief, the guy is just discussing what he sees, and what the models might be showing. This whole nonsense of ‘rooting for cold weather’ is utterly ridiculous. Guess what, the weather is going to do what it’s going to do, regardless of what we ‘root’ for.

Foothills, whatever you want to call them
We NEVER do well in upslope events. I've lived in Greenville all my 53 years, and the snow from those type setups always seem to stop at the Cashiers/Highlands area. Moisture cant ever make it over those mountains..

That’s hilarious. I cannot believe the highlands couldn’t even buy a rogue snow shower dusting during one of the many upslope events NC has gotten
Highlands? That's in NC, although there is the very thin strip of Mts in Greenville, Pickens, and Oconee counties...

Here’s how bad it’s been for the SC folks…

Not for the NE Georgia folks...

glad its the euro and not the gfs.... if its here Monday i will be all in
Agreed. Thinking back to the pre-Christmas threat, when GFS and others were showing action in the SE, but the Euro never caved, and proved to be right. So thinking/hoping its gonna lead the way this time..

Not bad for Upstate SC folks either!

Well, no matter what happens with the snow, coldest Xmas in a long time seems to be a lock.
You seem to forget 2020. High Christmas day was 30 here in Greenville..

GEFS looks slightly improved from last night. EURO is out to lunch and still seems to be handling the energy out west poorly and the op remains at odds with the EPS. Need that western ridge a little further east. GEFS looks pretty dang good for snow chances. It’s really that western energy and making sure it rounds the ridge and doesn’t over amplify in the Mississippi valley that could be the wrench thrown in this. GFS is super suppressed but I’ll take that look all day at range. Hopefully by the weekend we have a good idea of how the western energy will evolve
'EURO is out to lunch and still seems to be handling the energy out west poorly'
Why do we always say this when one model doesn't show what is 'wanted'. Maybe the EURO is handling the energy correctly..

It has been dry down here, too. For me, this dryness has been the proverbial double edged sword. I've been absolutely loving the good number of days with low dewpoints this spring for comfortable outdoor activities in advance of the almost guaranteed long summer doldrums of heat and humidity. Late last evening was the latest opportunity taken advantage of with a walk in the mid to upper 60s and dewpoints near 50 resulting in no sweating. But on the negative side, soils are dry due to rainfall being only near 50% of normal since 12/1/21 (40% of normal this month) thus necessitating irrigation of the grass just to keep it in halfway decent shape. (Temperatures this meteorological spring have averaged a hair warmer than normal.)
And to add to this, looks like the long range has 90s here in the upstate. That'll further dry up the ground, and I'm fearful that we might be looking at a dry, hot summer. Hope I'm wrong..

I’ll trade about 20 of my 90+ degree days for some 70’s with someone. Anyone?
Yeah, but living in a climate that rarely gets above 70 means you live in the upper mid west. I'll pass!..

NEVER that guy, but it’s about that time lol I hate any heat….it’s 63 here today and it’s already making me wanna begin my preparation for yet another miserable Carolina Summer. I’d give anything to live in Minneapolis or Somewhere it’s just never above 75 I’ve lived here 30 yrs and hate every minute from March-October lmao
Good Lord man, I wouldn't trade Carolina weather with ANYONE! And I've lived here all 51 years of my life..

I'm ready for spring now. With the jet so strong, looks like a blockbuster severe spring is on tap.
...and i hope the West gets winter in Feb into March. Going to P City for Spring break, and the last month has been terrible for snow there..

For upstate folks, Greenville especially, its been a GREAT winter, biggest snowfall in years, and pretty consistently cold the whole month of January. I have to give it an 'A'.
I wouldn't mind spring at this point...

Jan 16th part 2 (but with a better track)
Push that low just off the coast about 75 miles and the upstate folks would be very happy!

We also need to remember that what's not good for MBY, might now be the case for someone else's.

IMO, collage football has the OT correct. To make going last fair, each team switches turns going first.,.

Man-sorry you guys have missed the rain. Us update SC folks have been hammered lately. Lake Hartwell currently 2' over full lake level, after being down almost 8' in early December..
