I am sick of all the rain we have had in the last few years. I am hoping this is not the new normal due to warmer average temperatures with concurrent atmospheric moisture holding capacity.. When we moved into our house in 1993 we had the big snow and then the next year or two (?) we had a drought which necessitated a deepening of our well. Although at the time I thought the situation sucked I sort of wish my area could return to those hot, dry summers with winters of normal seasonal snowfalls.

Where do you find these tables on the Mt.Holly site? I look at the 'text products' but they show the snowfall data as it comes in. I haven't been able to locate a table as shown above.

updating a post I made earlier. I said I got 6.5 inches. well I found out my son had cleared the deck railing earlier in the morning. I took a measurement on my driveway and found I got 12". More in line with other observations in this part of Hunterdon county.

6.5" of the fluffiest snow I've seen in quite a while.
-
Ended up with 7"

Heavy snow. Total so far 5.25". Had 2.75 inches between 7and 9 am.
-
At 5am measured 3/4" of wet snow.

I don't care what others have said about this winter so far. I know you guys/gals in New England expect a lot more snow but so far, down here in central NJ I have had more snow to date (4.5") than in the last couple of years. It's nice to see a covering of snow for a week even though it will be gone shortly. It's been a while. As is usually the case here, February is the month for snow. If the snows occurs during the day I will really enjoy it. Also, I hope we have a run of Nino winters where there are more potential coastals to track.
By the way the New England forum is the best forum (followed by the Mid Atlantic) for learning about synoptics. I only wish Tip would explain the weather in terms I could understand. Lol

This may have already been posted, but if not it's an interesting read. It's about a more efficient snow making technique. `

Does Mt.Holly have a site where they post snow totals in their forecast area? I haven't seen anything from this past event.

I know the model blender and snow depth projections under play amounts in 90% of outcomes
Underplay? I would say just the opposite.

Expectations 4-6" with 3.5" as the cold concrete floor
I blame the +8F or whatever Atlantic for this disaster
After all of these years you know that modeled accumuations are usuaslly above most projections regarding total snowfall after melting. Did you realy thnk 4-6 was realistic?

2.25 and still snowing.

We busted bad further north meant nothing bustorama for all
Lol. What were your expections? Did you think you would wake up to a winter wonderland? If you looked at the modeled positive snow depth change it was paltry. So far, here it has been a better event than anything 2022-2023 had to offer.

1.5" and moderate snow. It has been really nice seeing this snow fall during the day. If it's gone tomorrow so be it.
-
1" and still moderate snow.

I saw pictures from a friend's house in Flemington new Jersey moderate snow sticking on all surfaces. That bode's well for the park and areas North.
I can vouch for that. Currently have about 3/8" and moderate snow.

Light/moderate snow here near Flemington,NJ. Everything is covered. Glad I'm seeing some daytime snow. Unfortunately I probably won't be awake when it changes over and tomorrow morning there will be nothing on the ground.
