No visible signs of drought in Chicago - thank God!

Pouring rain in downtown Chicago. Really needed this.

Yeah, really hoping for a fiery hot summer in Chicago. No more drought though please.

Let's hope we get a decent soaking tonight and into tomorrow. Spent some time in central IL, nice to get out of the drought.

Grateful for the rain here. Some of the drier areas in the N, NW burbs cashed in on the heavier amounts too.

Just rained here IMBY for the first time in like a month.

Looks like quite a bit of rain in the medium range.

Wild to me that Chicago’s last 6”+ snowstorm was November 2018, and that at ORD. For the Loop, last 6” storm I can remember was Feb 2018. Has been a horrendous stretch and it is finally coming to an end.

Honestly you should be thankful Chicago gets as much snow and cold as they do considering they are not very far north.  Chicago is closer to the equator than the North Pole. I imagine most cities close to Chicago's latitude across the world are warmer and less snowy.

 

Climate change has already taken places below 40° N out of the game in this subforum. The lower Great Lakes region is next.
