Car doesn’t even need a clean off after parking at 9 a.m.

    Seeing ASH at 35/35.

We never fell below 33 so the spring plants are still springing.

    A true April snow event.

Measured 1.5 before shoveling and cleaning off the car at around 730....despite it snowing for much of the morning only an additional 1/2 inch has accumulated on the car

One of the things I like about La Nina’s is you know what you are going to get with the winter by mid-late December. The good Niña winters you get buried early. If it’s a Niña and Dec torches, there’s no “oh maybe it will turn around”, it means the winter is cooked. Where as with this winter, many of us spent 2 months chasing ghosts before it became clear we were starting down a ratter. With a Niña, that false hope doesn’t exist. On the other hand if we do get snow in December, it’s a lot more fun to track storms because you know more is coming at some point.

The usual suspects will state that a pattern change is coming....

Back in the early fall I pointed out to you the developing storm track and the strength of the El Nino.  I mentioned those weren't good signs for winter 23-24.......easiest winter that I have ever experienced....grade F-...well below normal snowfall to go along with well above normal temps. ...a non winter.

I'll take my chances with a El/La Nothing...

Honestly, stay out of the thread if you aren’t going to contribute anything of substance and just continue to troll. I’ll help you out if you don’t want to do it voluntarily.

so saying it is best to wait to late summer or early fall is considered to be trolling???

Yeah I have had a moss explosion on my north facing hill and shaded areas.  I thought moss was slow lol.  I have a significant gravel patch, like a Japanese-style garden and the moss is coming up through the stones.  Kill it now you say?  Chemicals or something?

Dish detergent mixed with warm water(a gallon) is effective in killing moss.  Spray the moss with the mixture and allow 24-48 hours for the moss to die. Remove the dead moss. The key is to put the dead moss in a plastic bag to prevent as many  spores as possible  from being released.

Raking live moss  allows for spores to be released which is why the moss will often grow back in the same area. Chemicals come with risks and the vast majority of people do not take precautions when using chemicals on their lawns.

Stupid question to the experts here…looking like a decent amount of rain Wed night into Thursday and “breezy.” I have to fly out to LAX midday Thursday. How “breezy” are we looking at because I’m hoping to get out of JFK as close as on time as possible.

And that's here.  Cities like Cleveland, Detroit, Indy would see a 9am or later sunrise.   I just don't see that happening.   Interestingly we did do year round DST for one year in 73-74.   Any guesses as to why it was only for a year?

...because it was an epic fail.....I was in hs at the time. On cloudy/rainy/days it stayed dark till late morning.  Numerous kids fell asleep in class.

You’ll probably do fine next winter, or even more than fine. But I’m pretty bearish on any wintry prospects east of the apps.

Anyone who thinks that high ACE will give us a better winter in the east is likely wishcasting. We need -EPO/-NAO blocking to make that happen, and I think we don’t get as much blocking as we hope. Even less than this year, and definitely less than last year.

    I agree.
