Yeah totals have been going down. I just think the models dont really handle NWFS all that well or it could just be this winters curse.
I fully believe this winter is cursed.

I mean it does show some decent precip forming with the initial rain band, but just after that is abysmal. We shall see over the next few hours though. It's also initializing the current precip weaker/lighter than it really is.
Plenty of sun here and 55 so enough instability to get a little heavier precip going I would think. Just need temps to crash fast enough.

Although the overall totals arent hugely different. The HRRR looks a lot different than the Nam in terms of intensity at the onset of the changeover.

Latest Nam loving the northern counties with the initial banding. But it's just there to get my hopes up again ;). Let's see what happens this evening!

Props to the GFS sniffing this flurry out pretty early.
Gonna say we have a "heavy" dusting and it's actually coming down pretty good. This would probably qualify for the 4th biggest event we've had lol

Nowhere near worth really monitoring, but the 12z GFS tries to eek out a flurry or two on Monday for some.

We haven't had any shortage of snow events up here. Just no robust events. Maybe this next one will be different.
I'm gonna disagree for the northern counties, weve had maybe 2 "potential" NWFS events this whole winter. Like there have been flakes falling from the sky 6 maybe 7 times at the most this whole season which is well below the average number of opportunities.

Already more excited for this than whatever you call this last storm. Time to catch back up for the season!!!

still snowing, but probably gonna max out close to 2 inches. Brad P nailed his forecast for our area up here in the northern areas. Now we need it to warm up and dry out some after tonight and tomorrow.

Wrecks happening all over 421 between boone and Wilkes. Main roads in Boone are fine. People are proceeding to drive like idiots however.

Finally have some larger flakes coming down, hoping another band comes through momentarily.

It’s been 779 days since the last flake fell in myrtle beach. HRRR looks like I’m gonna be up with the kids hoping to see some flakes falling around 5am. Would be their first time seeing snow that they are old enough to remember, even if it doesn’t stick
Cheering for you!

Best pic I can get right now eating lunch. Maybe a quarter to half an inch.

Alright, massive change in the last 20 minutes l, snow sticking much more and feels colder. Ground turning white rapidly with pretty heavy rates currently.

I'm not petty enough to take a pic and prove it but its just now starting to barely stick to trees. The grass is still mostly wet off of Haywood in West Asheville
same here in Boone. the ground is so wet that everything is melting, so mulchy areas and some grassy surfaces are sticking a tiny bit but that's it.
-
very light accumulations on elevated surfaces.
-
Guess you can call it an upgrade from flurries to light snow in Boone. Nothing that can accumulate yet.
