I love being in the bulls eye, but not six days out. That NW trend will not be kind to us.

I wish I could park my house under this band for the rest of the winter. RIPPING
Are you over by St. David’s? I hope that band is heading our way!

We’re doing 1/2 inch an hour rates in N Raleigh right now
Agreed. Definitely picking up!

I’m in North Hills, near Douglas Elementary. It’s very light atm, but we’re probably close to 1”. Rates and ratios should increase soon. Would guess we’ll land around 3”. Couldn’t be happier
It’s actually picked up here quite a bit. As long as we get enough so that our kiddos can go sledding I’m happy. I just love watching it fall!

If you’re complaining about anything in the Raleigh area, you need a new hobby. This is our best storm in years. Absolutely awesome out right now. Loving every second of it
We’re about 15 minutes north of North Hills off of Six Forks and it’s pretty much a flizzard. Still beautiful but no accumulation. Is it the same where you are?

The very, very, very light snow we had falling in North Raleigh for a little while has now stopped. Hopefully it’s going to get heavier later on.

I will get Bashed I’m sure….. but the fire everyone losers are out in full force, they lost to Wright St at home (Unacceptable) but also until last night all but 2 games had a lead of 7 or more in second half including being up 15 Vs the then #1 Purdue. A VERY young team with no identity imo there a year or two away from Keatts being on a red hot seat…. Imo you can’t fire him until minimal 2024 bc #7 in the Country Dillingham comitted for 2023 …. I can’t stand the fire everyone State ppl…. Especially Football, Doeron is the best coach we’ve ever had 3(9win seasons) in 5yrs and now #17 in the country in guys drafted since 2018 wth do these ppl want?
I’m a Carolina fan. After the butt kicking we got the other night there are a ton of “fire everyone” fans out there. It was a brutal loss though. Not as bad as possibly whiffing on this storm though.

Used to be the gold standard. Not quite as good as it used to be, however, it is still pretty deadly in this range.
Better than the NAM?

So the Triad gets measurable snowfall one weekend, and the next weekend Greenville gets measurable snowfall, while Raleigh guess next to nothing both times. It’s utterly ridiculous, and yes, I’m very bitter about it.

12z Euro is a dumpster fire for everyone outside the costal plain. Look away now if you had anything invested in this Triangle west…
So how is it for the Raleigh/North Hills members?

GFS held serve. Beggars can’t be choosers, yes totals are not super high but RDU looks really good for a 2-4” snowfall and temps in the 20’s STILL despite the doom and gloom here. That would be an awesome storm
Check, please. Dinner is on me for the RDU folks.

Looks like this RDU poster might need to pull up a chair and stay for awhile.

When do these so called "northwest trends" typically start......could use some of that right now......
Sharing is caring. You all got your storm last weekend. Let us have some fun this weekend.

***From Raleigh Perspective***
Dear lord, please deliver the 12z GFS prediction as depicted on the model. A weak system with no mixing in Raleigh and long duration of light snow Friday/Saturday. We are not greedy folks and will sacrifice a major storm with juiced QPF for this exact storm to not have mixing issues. Thank you lord, Amen
One of our kiddos goes to St. David’s. I will have him say this in chapel tomorrow :).

I’ll take anything as long as it stays below freezing once the wintry precipitation starts and that there is enough snow or sleet to shovel. This looks like a good bet to get 1-3” of snow or sleet in the triangle with brutally cold temps. Honestly I don’t care if it’s just sleet 2” of sleet is a good storm to me. Models certainly showing a warm nose but steadfast on frigid surface temps. Keep the freezing rain out and this (and with these profiles it looks like an expansive sleet storm) will be a great storm regardless of total snowfall. Models are trending towards this type of storm and I’m perfectly ok with that!
This fellow North Raleigh poster completely agrees with you! I won’t be greedy at all. 1”-3” would be perfect.

Cliff diving this weekend should be great when we get that 33 degree rain in Central NC again.
Got a warning for posting a valid opinion in the storm thread. Just because people don't want to hear it doesn't make it banter. Haha. Anyways.
Just complain in here. You will have the backing of other RDU posters like me. I’ve about had it with 34 degree rain and the ridiculous NW trend. We are due for something good!

Maybe I’m an ass, but if we miss here, I’d rather miss it where coastal folks get it rather than foothills crowd.
I totally agree with you.

Really disappointed that this one couldn't squeeze anything out for the Triangle. I miss snow soooo bad. I had no idea moving here it would be so snowdry
I grew up in Fayetteville and remember being so angry seeing kids in Raleigh missing school for snow while I had to go in a cold rain. I now live in Raleigh, and I can really only remember two big snow events over the last 15 years. We are due for something good.

The lightest of light snow falling in North Raleigh. I’m sure nothing is going to accumulate but it still is beautiful to watch fall!
