  1. Currently getting a nice burst of snow, temps still to warm to accumulate much, sitting at 34°..
  2. Yeah definitely, wasn't expecting much Imby but I'd still take it over rain lol Starting to slush up on the deck which is probably the best we'll do..
  3. Snowing here as well but not sticking much at 35°, didn't expect much to anyway lol
  4. Sunday a deep mid level trough will cross the eastern Great Lakes, eventually closing off into a progressive closed low moving from eastern NY late Sunday into New England Sunday night. At the surface, weak low pressure will move from Ohio tonight east across Pennsylvania Sunday before moving off the southern New England coast Sunday night and yielding to secondary cyclogenesis well off the east coast. Abundant moisture and large scale forcing with the mid level trough and surface low will produce periods of mostly light rain and wet snow across the region Sunday. The most concentrated area of rain and wet snow is likely to focus across Central NY and southern portions of the eastern Lake Ontario region from late morning through the afternoon Sunday where DPVA and frontogenesis will focus just downstream of the closing off mid level low. Higher precipitation rates and associated evaporative cooling and cooling the column from melting processes may force a change to all wet snow for a few hours in the middle of this band of precipitation. Farther west, chilly northwest flow will also produce an area of upslope enhanced precipitation along the Chautauqua Ridge Sunday. As far as snow accumulations go, the higher terrain of the Chautauqua Ridge and Boston Hills may see 1-2" of slushy accumulation. The Tug Hill may see 2-3" of accumulation. Most lower elevations will see little or no accumulation where temperatures will be several degrees warmer. The one exception may be from eastern Wayne to Oswego counties where precipitation rates may force a chance to all snow and suppress surface temperatures to allow for a coating to an inch of slush.
  5. Lek for the win again? Lol Obviously can't take these numbers at face value, NWS only going up to an inch for higher elevations..But wherever heavy precipitation winds up tomorrow morning, could have a little surprise..
  6. We picked up a quick 0.43" of rain from that batch, another line of showers has developed to the SW..
  7. Raining pretty good out right now, looks to be a quick soaking..
  8. Wintry mix/snow showers likely tomorrow morning according to the WPC.. Obviously no accumulation is expected for the lower elevations..
  9. Looks like warm front is on the door step, CF should move through this evening...Temps still dropping here (56°) but I think it will start to rise once again, soon..
  10. Briefly hit 60° with a little sunshine but since have clouded back up with temps in the mid-upper 50s..SWS issued.. ..Strong Thunderstorms Possible This Afternoon... Heavy showers and possible thunderstorms over portions of the western Southern Tier at midday will move northeast across the Finger Lakes region to the Eastern Lake Ontario region by mid afternoon. The heavier showers and developing thunderstorms will have the potential to produce wind gusts of 50 mph or greater... along with up to a half inch of rain in less than 30 minutes. Stay tuned for additional special weather statements and or possible warnings as this scenario unfolds. The most significant weather should move out of our region by 3 PM.
  11. A secondary trough and upper level low will track across the Ohio Valley tonight and over the area by Friday morning. This wil cause the potential for showers to increase through the night tonight. With temperatures cooling through the night, precip/showers will start out as rain showers, and mixing with and changing to all snow through the night. && .SHORT TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT/... This period starts off somewhat wintry behind the departed cold front. Deep upper trough axis will make its way across the region through the day Friday. Ongoing cold air advection will send 850 mb temperatures down to around -8C by the end of the day. This will maintain a good coverage of lake enhanced and upslope precipitation to the east of the lakes. Thermal profiles suggesting precipitation will be mainly in the form of snow or snow pellets/graupel. There could be some mix with rain as temperatures try to push into the lower 40s across portions of the Genesee Valley and Finger Lakes. Snowfall accumulation, if any, will be restricted to the higher terrain with an inch or so east of Lake Erie and one to two inches on the Tug Hill. With some of the heavier showers there could be brief coatings of snow at lower elevations, but it should also melt in between showers with the strong early April sun and marginal temperatures. There will be a brief window Friday night for some northwest flow lake effect snow showers, but these should gradually end with the approach of an upper level ridge axis. Clearing will be slow though with the northwest flow, with cloudy skies slowly eroding from northwest to southeast.
  12. It's looks like a good shot at some snow in the air tomorrow with limited (if any) accumulation, tug could see 1"-3" or so.. Mesos in good agreement on this..
  13. Up to 49° here with some on and off light rain..The real sizzle sizzle will be here this afternoon, especially in the sizzlecuse..If tombo land wants the summer warmth he knows where to go lol
  14. Mid-upper 30s all day so far Imby..It looks like we have an approaching warm front followed closely by a cold front, this is why we will warm tomorrow afternoon while you guys get ready to cool lol
  15. Could even see a few flakes behind the front Friday morning..
  16. Advisories up for portions of kbuf CWA due to light icing ahead of the next cutter..
  17. It also has something to do with who's in charge..I was shipped off to my grandparents in suburban NJ in the mid 90s due to the high crime rate in NYC.. Before Rudy G flipped his top he did a lot of good things for NYC, especially with lowering crime rate..I also think 9/11 had something to do with it as the city came together..Now for whatever reason sexual assault has gone up while all other crime has gone down..For example in 1990 NYC had 2600 homicides and 112k robberies while in 2019 they had 550 murders and 18k robberies..Keep in mind population is higher now compared to the 1990s... https://www.disastercenter.com/crime/nycrime.htm
  18. NFL owners have approved a modified proposal for overtime that will guarantee each team a possession, but only for postseason games. The vote took place Monday afternoon at the annual league meetings. The current rule, which allows a team to win on the opening possession of overtime if it scores a touchdown, will continue for regular-season games.
