NGL it's really cool to jackpot for once! 11" total between the two storms. It looks wild here in Gaithersburg.

5” of new snow in Gaithersburg, really cheering for these streamers to get to me.

A long time ago I asked on this forum, after being crushed with repeated 6-10" events busting with 24 hours notice, if things ever go the other way... if we ever go from like 0-2" to suddenly 6-10" with little notice.
Today answers my question

I'm positively cackling, every time the band moves the dark green and yellow then shifts backwards. It's like I have a standing wave of snow over me.

HRRR, after being one of the more bullish models for QPF last night, is now apparently discounting this big band we've got forming... hopefully more upside awaits.
My deck is not discounting this band... lol

Unreal, I had absolutely zero expectation I would be waking up to 3" of new snow in Gaithersburg. This is incredible. Everything is covered outside, streets, cars, and its coming down hard rn.

I am very glad that you are back; we've overlapped in years of posting. I stopped being active here after the 2020/2021 season. There were so many actual Winter Storm Warnings issued that far unperformed that season that I just didn't feel like following the weather anymore. But, I guess this season is pulling me back as well.
May this be the year our love for weather returns.
I'm watching carefully because my fiancee is supposed to be flying in tomorrow.

This week has really woken me back up to pay attention to weather again. I stopped being active here after the last several times the rug was pulled out from under me and just sort of let the weather do what it will do.
But this week I'm back and hooked on the excitement, and the kiddo has enjyoed the heck out of the sledding!
Excited to see fresh snow on snow, I think I've only seen that once in my life? haha

3.5” in Gaithersburg. I hit my peak snow accums at like 9 PM last night and even though it kept falling, I seemingly added nothing.
nevertheless, good to be on the board and it’s really pretty out.

3.5 in Gaithersburg. Feels like it’s been snowing all day but it hasn’t accumulated as much in the last few hours. Dunno how much more is expected. Really pretty though.

Roads 100% impassable in my part of Gaithersburg. No tire marks, snowed over 3-4 inches.

2 inches as of 10:04 pm - would love to make a run at 6 - would be highest snowfall for me since the January 2016 blizzard
Wasn’t there a 8-10” area wide storm a few years ago? Did you get snow holed on it?

3” and SN+ in my corner of Gaithersburg

Just got back in from sledding all day with the kiddo in Gaithersburg. Really enjoying some snow for once
Lots of snow on the hills made for nice sledding all around!

Germantown 8 degrees, feels like -8, and the power is out for my area right now and has been for a while. It's getting cold inside.

Tornado Warning going right into the district.
Hook and couplet.

This rain is really washing away a lot of the snow here in Germantown.

I’m getting some real snow and heavy snow right now in Germantown. This was really nice. No sign of rain yet.

Just drove to target. Don’t do it. Roads are absolute ice rinks. Fishtailed like crazy.

Some nice light snow in Germantown. I haven't paid attention to this event at all so I have no idea what to expect except "a bit of snow then some rain."

This one was one of the most fun to track. 5” of overperforming snow most of it coming down in a 2 hour span.

5” in my part of Germantown. That band stayed perfectly over me.

Didn’t check but I gotta be at 4” right now. Heck of a storm for a quick pass. Goodnight!

It’s 47 degrees outside and I just got thunder. I have never heard thunder at such low temps. Wow!
