  1. We had a few events. Maybe next year things will turn around. Other than the freakish warmth, this was pretty much an 80s type winter. Time to plan the garden, change the fishing lines, sharpen the hooks.
  2. was 93 an El Nino? we had some piddly events then a bigger one in Feb, followed by the superstorm in Mid March.
  3. I was the only maniac at the mall today...me and the janitors. But couldn't start up the snow blower at 6 am. Let the neighbors sleep, plus it is illegal.....got some nice pictures around Menlo. Plows having an easier time with this storm. They actually struggled with the ice a few weeks back, they closed the upper decks for a week til it melted. Going to fire up the big blower today.....10-11 inches ....
  4. Just picked my daughter up from work. She said dad its like a foot. I said no way, strapped on my waterproof short boots, went out, snow went right over them. Time to get the pack boots out.....and still snowing. Biggest snow since 2022..
  5. I'm surprised. Last I checked this was south and struggling. Remember Henry Morgusity; " It wants to snow there..." very unscientific....but who knows?
  6. Gotta take the daughter to Brooklyn to doctor this afternoon. Good thing we didn't take the Sat appointment. No place to park even without the snow.
  7. Is this a clipper? Never seen one produce yet since I've been following.
  8. 6 is a pretty good storm for us, we were progged for 4-8, so there we are. Was hoping for a bit more but it's fine. Was a little tough driving down route 1 this morning to Edison, and worse coming home, but things are fine now. More like a March storm IMO.
  9. i think its a little better than that; we had about4-5 today just across the rive from the city and in that storm it was white rain; and the one after was almost as lame here.
  10. A typical 80s type event. But heavier wet snow than we would have gotten at this time of year back then; it was usually a powder.
  11. Can't break 5 inches around here unless its a blockbuster. But good enough. Got a workout.
  12. No real accums for hours. If you hate snow, this is the region to be in around the metro.
  13. I know, people here in the past often did not believe me. Like, why would I make that up?
  14. it isn't nonsense. it happens quite a bit here. Something about the geography is my guess.
  15. I think this is about our ceiling for this one. Enjoy it. After the last two years, it's a welcome sight.
  16. It is the default setting for snow in this area. It will find a way to underperform here most of the time. I have never gotten an explanation as to why, but I've watched it for at least the past 8-9 years or so. But we got some and its a nice wintry day out, and lots of people got to sleep in and blow off serious work for the day. If your are an essential worker well that's the way it goes. We need you folks. Guess I'll read for a bit then go clean up.
  17. That's better than here and what radar is showing. Subsidence hell.....that's what this area is lol. Less for me to clean.
  18. That looks like a big swath of CNJ isn't doing much. Trenton to Woodbridge. As usual and its what I'm observing. That looks like Monmouth is doing well. Reports from the area?
  19. It's pretty slow going out there. Just got back. Traffic is moving ok but you aren't going anywhere fast. Lots of plows and salters out on rte 1. Side streets are a mess. Good day to stay home. I was the only maniac walking the mall just me and the homeless and the maintenance crews.
