  1. The morning rush hour Wednesday has the potential to be quite dicey as it stands right now. No one is going to take a snow threat seriously tomorrow when it's 65 degrees and raining.
  2. I don't mean for you. I mean for areas where nothing fell. Nothing is on the ground. Where is the justification for WSW when the actual forecast calls for an additional 1-2 inches on top of nothing? How can that be substantiated?
  3. There's no reason Western NJ should still be in a winter storm warning when no accumulating snow fell from Trenton to Princeton and now they're only calling for 1-2 inches more. Same goes for most of Hunterdon County south of Flemington. Where less than 2 fell all day.
  4. Dry air is a storm killer. Dave Curren now lowering potential totals. I knew we were in trouble especially for Western NJ when the sun was coming out at 11 am in Princeton.
  5. Almost 2 inches on the grass in Point Pleasant Beach. We are so close to getting dry slotted but for now it's amazing.
  6. Moderate snow now after some heavy snow in Ringoes. About 3/4 inch on ground.
  7. Winds just cranked to more than 50 here in eastern Monmouth/ocean. 51 at the allaire airport. It's howling outside after a few hours of calm. Sting?
  8. It's only my second one. Got a deal for my birthday. But at least Royal Caribbean is already pledging to help. I know exactly what you're talking about though.
  9. My friend (who lacks a soul apparently) says if the workers are homeless or worse they'll just staff it with crew from the ship.
  10. How badly will I be internet shamed if I post my Nassau and CoCoCay Perfect Day cruise photos we are supposed to be on in 2 weeks??? All kidding aside honestly I hope they change the itinerary.....
  11. Definitely a top 5 wind event for me in my lifetime. Here's video of the tree falling as it happened across my street we took. Very little rain fell. No lightning or thunder either.
  12. We just hit 100 here in point pleasant beach. I'm on the beach currently with a 15 mph land breeze and some hungry black flies biting my ankles. Relief is only found in the water about 75 degrees.
  13. A likely microburst hit Oakhurst NJ last night. Lots of trees down bout a mile long path 30 yards wide tops.
  14. Severe storm watch issued for basically the same areas which had tornado watches out the last two days.
  15. We just got backdoored here at the beach. From 70 something to barely 60 in point pleasant beach
  16. Stopped traffic on route 13 near broad Creek. Something was on the ground there.
  17. Tornado likely crossed route 13 in Delaware just north of Laurel.
  18. I believe that ice storm in 1994 hammered us at the Jersey Shore as well and was the same day as the California earthquake. We may have been off for school for MLK day. That was the most ice I've ever seen at the shore. It was even worse a few miles northwest of Belmar.
  19. We are stuck in Manasquan waiting for the tidal flooding to recede. More than 2 dozen vehicles damaged or ruined, more than a dozen high water rescues. Over on the point side the ocean breached and came into the street.
  20. MT HOLLY just upgraded the Jersey Shore to the HWW. I'll be reporting at the Manasquan Inlet from 8-3 tomorrow. ...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 11 AM EDT SATURDAY... The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a High Wind Warning, which is in effect from 3 AM to 11 AM EDT Saturday. The Wind Advisory is no longer in effect. * WINDS...East 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph. * TIMING...From late tonight through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.
  21. You can only show images of Bolivar, New Orleans, Mantoloking, etc for so long. In the end, it's their lives they are gambling with. Like that old man on Mt St Helens.
  22. We had flash flooding at the shore today thanks to those tiny showers on radar.
