  1. Looks a lot like the GFS run. Well south, IL river and north gets solid plastering.
  2. 18z GFS looks a lot like the prior run. Still in that south camp
  3. Same general idea as the Euro, just a bit SE. Riding the line in MBY. Thread worthy event unfolding, who is gonna pop one up?
  4. 12z GFS with numerous chances for flakes through the run.
  5. Short range models, especially the HRRR nailed the narrow pivoting defo band.
  6. Front row seat as I babysit a driver in ditch waiting on the tow to show up. We went from having no calls to the county exploding with driver in ditch/wreck calls.
  7. Yeah, looks to stall just west of here and begin to pivot back east a bit. Rip city under the band with light sleet falling on the backside currently.
  8. Can confirm. At work in Sycamore and we have almost 2” down. Working wrecks all over the northern half of the county.
  9. Defo band setting up as modeled. Someone in the pseudo pivot will have a nice surprise. Already a solid coating on the grass in Sycamore.
  10. Pretty rare to be watching a snowstorm miss me to the south in November. Expecting maybe a couple mood flakes here, unless that backside paper thin defo band comes to fruition.
  11. Currently 17/4 here tonight. Bitterly cold by November standards for sure.
  12. These are in no particular order: 1. Feb 3rd-11th, 2018: What an awesome week. 9 consecutive days with measurable snowfall, with a nice storm to end it. 2. GHD II- What else needs to be said. One of those rare storms where each model run kept ramping it up until the event, and then the storm delivered. 3. March 5th, 2013 - Had the perfect position in the pivot point. Expecting 5-6" and got hit with over 10" 4. GHD I- The storm that sucked me in. I had always dabbled in weather, but found this board about 5 days prior to the blizzard. And here I remain. 5. (tie) - Christmas "surprise" of 2009- Got 10" of the fluffiest snow imaginable. If I recall correctly, ratios were 30:1+ 5. (tie) - December 1st 2006 Blizzard- School was cancelled, we took a sled to the liquor store to bring back a few kegs. Good times.
  13. Yep, in general if we are looking for that big boy snowstorm, someone has to be on the warm side. (And get all the s***t)
  14. Going to shoot to get some late season golf in with the “zzzzz’s” forecast next week
  15. Heavy graupel and some nice gusts as these squalls work through.
  16. If you haven't made it to New Zealand, add that one to the list. Trust me.
