Yeah I was looking at that after my comment...I guess I thought the average low would have been higher. I know the coldest min in January at BDL has gone from 12 or 13 to 17 I think since the 1971-2000 normals. I was also just speaking generally about rising mins.

Ya the cold stretch knocked it down 3 degrees. It definitely felt worse than what the numbers show but still +7 for the month. Few days of 55-60 coming will probably finished working +8 for the month in CT at least.
I'm kind of surprised 44/25 on 3/22 is only a -5. I feel like the reason it seems colder than it is are the mins. We just don't get as cold at night mostly because we always have cloud cover due to AN precip.

Does anyone have a link to the ZR amounts?

Lock that in to continue the torture. Maybe we get good April snows like 2016 lol.
That's the year I remember April snow. I remember driving to work in it early in the morning on a Sunday I think. But I keep seeing people reference 2018 which I don't remember at all.

No way, Seattle blows..period.
It's actually a pretty cool city. I went there for a wedding a year and a half ago. I'd live there if I were rich.

Plenty of strong El Ninos were decent, but unfortunately this wasn't one of them. Over the past several years it really hasn't mattered what ENSO has done because the extra tropical Pacific has sucked. Anyone who has a clue knows this wasn't a prototypical super El Nino with a huge GOA low...its sucked because we can't shake the west PAC warm pool that continues to favor Maritime forcing, regardless of ENSO.
Does that mean the MJO isn't just "all the rage" the last 7 years or so like Will said? It's been driving the bus lately? I still don't understand the MJO I need to read a lot about it. And I sure as hell can never understand the plots of it.

At least CA keeps getting the "atmospheric rivers"........I swear growing up in the Bay Area I never heard it called that and I wonder if you guys here ever heard "bomb cyclone" or "polar vortex" after every noreaster or cold snap.......anyway.....heres to Sping 2024!!!!
Agree with you about the term atmospheric river. I find it extremely irritating for some reason lol.

Yours was in the CT map. I left a lot out for the SNE map because it's literally impossible to fit them all.
Build a bridge...
Lol, nah I get it. Waterbury is a sh*thole that doesn't matter.
Also for the record I just measured the depth. I didn't clear a snowboard or nothing like that. Too old and depressed to care lol

Just want to give a huge shoutout to @CT Rain for using meteorological knowledge, pointing out upper level conditions as a plus factor last night vs hugging snow maps to at least not overly pare back totals in CT like some of the more amateur folks on Twitter and elsewhere who rolled out like 5 forecasts and overly bought into the modeling whipsaw.
There's a reason he was already working in like the biggest TV market at age 21
