Pretty solid wind event again Thursday night 

After a brief break in winds they’re starting to pickup again 

Anybody else notice the winds died down ?

Winds actually calmed a little bit

Lightning as well

Wow a lot of thunder

There is a crazy roar with these winds 

Winds are ripping here last 15-20 min

Most models have the strongest winds 2pm-10pm or so

Most 00Z model guidance is showing a strong LLJ anywhere from 60
to 70 kts at 925mb. Bufkit soundings show a pretty high
inversion with a lot of the strong winds from the LLJ both above
and below it, so its likely a lot of the strong winds will mix
down to the surface

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 AM EDT
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...East winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey,
  and southeast New York.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 6 AM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
  especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.

Models continue to insist on a solid wind event 

Impressive winds on models really ramping up the gust ceiling last few runs 

High wind watch up 

Looks like all the rain is sliding east 

Winds picking up 

If the models are correct winds should begin to gust 40-50 within next hour or 2 and with the super wet ground can cause some problems

We’ve been gusting 40-50 all morning here in Staten Island, it’s been a. But cloudy let’s see if we get some more mixing with sun starting to come out like @bluewavementioned  

Power outages starting to creep up, worst of the winds come after 11am  to Upton. Shaping up to be a long duration wind event
