Around 8" and a little upslope still flowing. A bit disappointing but within the forecast range.

We must be over 8" so far and coming down strong. Probably over 20" on the ground. Wonderful ski weekend!

It would appear that Canaan survived the rain and with another 2-4 coming overnight they may be in half decent shape for the holiday weekend.
Yeah, we held on to frozen way longer than I expected this morning, and held on to temps in the 30s with the rain all day. Normally we spike up into the mid 40s or even 50s for events like these, but with the winds more out of the SE instead of SW it looks like we will survive with a strong base. Hope we repeat with Friday's storm.

The only thing that crosses my mind and that some of my ravens fan friends are dreading is if Browns win their 4/5 game and the 2 and 3 seeds hold serve it would set-up Flacco-led Browns coming to Baltimore in three weeks and...that would be a quite a convergence of things. The Browns D is nasty and maybe the only real obstacle left in the AFC for Baltimore (acknowledging that Baltimore has handled them twice this year already but still...)
The Browns did beat the Ravens in Baltimore this year . . .

The drive to/from Davis was just awesome. Roads there were totally snow covered and it was easily moderate, if not heavy, snowfall. Back here in the Boonies, roads are just starting to cave with maybe 1/2 inch so far and snowing moderately. 31.5 currently. My husband is from Ecuador (Quito) and had never seen snow until coming here in 2018 (his condo is in the Southern Hemisphere while his job was in the Northern Hemisphere). It is 72/48 there every single day. To say he doesn't get my snow obsession is an understatement but he was a trooper...came with me in the truck. Tootling around in the snow listening to Christmas music was a good time.
Glad you enjoyed. Glad you made it!!

Nine degrees this morning IMBY
I'm sure the perfectly placed station in Canaan for cold air draining nights got down near zero or below.

Leaves are really beginning to pop out here for those wanting to get some early peeping. This weekend should be really nice. The following weekend as well, the recent rains give me confidence we won't have a quick leaf drop and the colors should last for a while.

Damn. That's nuts! What is your latest freeze?
Not sure, I know we've had frost every month of the year. But I don't recall any in July since I've been living here the last 20 years. I think it has been in the mid 30s every morning this week.

The 3715' elevation at Canaan Heights compared to your average 3400' is elevation event on steroids with this event. Do you accept your elevation as 3400 ft., one source says 3300 and another says 3500?
The town of Davis is more in the range of 3100' at the river to maybe 3200' at the top of town.

Canaan Heights reporting 16.2” so far for the event.
Gonna be close at the end of this to matching the entire amount of snow we received in January and February combined.
Awesome and pathetic at the same time.

Dumping on the Canaan cam right now. We need a report from @jonjon.
Got a few inches in town last night, didn't start accumulating until well after sun went down. Today, it warmed up to a rain/snow mix this afternoon with temps rising to the mid-30s. More melting of snow than adding of snow, but just a few hundred feet up (like Canaan Heights) there is a solid 6"+ on the ground. I assume we will get more accumulating snow, even down in town, tonight after the sun goes down and we drop a few degrees. The highest ridges above 4k are probably killing it.

We came so close to opening the baker/wine bar in the building next to Hellbenders a couple of months ago. But decided to put that off for a few years until we're empty nesters.

Still light snow in Davis. There wasn’t enough snow for xc skiing so we did a nice hike this morning in the wildlife refuge.
Warming up now by the fire at @jonjon’s place, Stumptown Ales. Still great beers.
Sorry I missed you!
I was beachin' it.

Thanks PSU, sorry I've missed you. But I'm not in the bar often these days (trying to keep consumption down). If you're ever headed this was let me know ahead of time and I can make an appearance!
