NWS is out that way seeing if it was a tornado. Now Media where I am is directly east of Glen Mills and I will tell you I heard what sounded like a jet plane (probably the low-level jet passing above my head) as 60-70 mph winds were ripping through for about 5-8 minutes could have been a remnant of a tornado yesterday.
It roared past us coming south to north. The flowers in the garden were all bent at the same angle. Short lived but potent. Yeah, looks like it was straight line winds this time. Although a few years ago, Cheyney Road was hit hard by what I think was finally determined to be an EF1.

Just got power back here - Yay! We have a small 4000 watt generator that I dusted off last night to save the food in the fridge. Now it's quiet and also a really nice evening out.
I do my best backup power research during outages, lol. Looking at battery backup with solar input capability this time around. Not cheap, but would be nice for next time. It's easy to get complacent since it doesn't happen too often.
Hope you get your power back soon too!
Congrats on the power restoration. Ours came on around 4 pm. Welcome surprise. We have an 8 kilowatt generator that hooks up to a transfer switch panel. The power goes out so often around here we had to do something. It runs most of the house. It will electrify the first floor and the master bedroom/bathroom, run the well pump, the freezer, the refrigerator/microwave and all the kitchen sockets, some of the ceiling fans, and the gas furnace. Worth every dime.

In Glen Mills not far from Cheyney Road. All that happened on our property was the patio table was picked up and tossed onto the vegetable garden fence. Fence survived as did the tomatoes.
But it's a mess around here. One of our neighbors had a tree come down on their house. No surprise the power is still out. Roads closed all over the place. PECO estimate is 11PM tonight. That would be lucky.

That is strange. I thought you had more elevation (over 400 ft.), although in this case I don't think it has much to do with elevation.
Some of Glen Mills does have elevation. Glen Mills School sits at over 400 ft. I'm about a mile away and I'm down around 250 ft. It's pretty hilly around me. Not complaining -- I'll take what I can get! -- but I've always wondered about what process creates that variability in such a close range.
Very light snow at the moment and hanging right at 31F.

Getting light snow here, it finally moved north from Delaware after sitting there for an hour or so. 33F currently. Snow from earlier today measured 1.9", still have most of it especially in shady areas. Driveway starting to get redusted (did do a little shovelling earlier).
Light snow here from my perch in Middletown Township (Delco). 32F.
I sit between you and Kevin Reilly. Interestingly I tend to see less snow than both of you by about 2" per storm. The snow from earlier today was barely a coating and dissipated pretty fast. I don't have a lot of elevation compared to other parts of Glen Mills. It's almost like we sit in a pocket. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Steady moderate snow. Driveway covered. Streets covered. Middletown Township, Delco. 28F.

Wow. Some wild stuff here now. About 2/3rd graupel/sleet and 1/3rd pancake snowflakes. The graupel is almost getting to hail density the way it is hitting and bouncing and is loud as hell! It also briefly looked like there may have been some FZRA in there too. No changes in temp/dp.
That passed through Glen Mills a short time ago. The banging on the skylights was intense! Changed back to all sleet at the moment. Temp is 28F.

The pinging has slowed down and the snow has picked back up. Some big flakes mixed in. Glen Mills.

Turned over to mostly sleet. A few flakes still hanging on. Glen Mills.

Hearing some pingers on the windows mixed with the snow. Temp still 24F. Glen Mills, Middletown Township.
